Knights of Columbus

CONTACT: Rob Love ♦ (908) 803-3671 ♦ council2393@gmail.com

The Knights of Columbus are the world’s largest Catholic fraternal, social service organization. Founded in Connecticut by Father Michael J. McGiveny, and named in honor of Christopher Columbus, the Knights are dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.  The Knights conduct programming in the areas of Family, Youth, Church, Council and Community.  Membership is limited to practicing Catholic men age 18 and older.  All Knights activities are designed to improve the quality of life of those in the parishes they serve and the greater community.

Saint Elizabeth Council #2393 has two monthly meetings, the first and third Tuesdays of each month, in the Knights of Columbus Hall located in the chapel basement.  The Council’s active membership is kept informed with Web site, email and direct mail newsletters. Among the activities sponsored by the Knights are teen dances, Meet Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, family hayrides and bowling days, socials, feeding the needy, scholarships/awards, youth free throw contest, regular rosary services, and a dinner dance. The Knights also assist at Bethel Ridge, Charter Day and the Township Safe Trick or Treat. The Knights serve their churches as ushers for special Masses and Confirmation, assemble the Crèche and light the St. James Christmas Tree, cook at the Parish Picnic, attend as Honor Guard for Father Glenn and visiting dignitaries.

Membership dues for the Knights of Columbus are $25 per year, which includes member materials, a magazine from the national office and an internationally accepted membership card.

Saint Elizabeth Council #2393, serving Bernardsville and Basking Ridge, was instituted on July 24, 1922 and is celebrating its 90th year of charitable and fraternal service to the churches and the community.
