Parish Nurses

CONTACT: Sue Abely ♦ (908) 204-9677 ♦ abely@optonline.net

The Saint James Parish Nurses promote well-being and healthy lifestyles and are committed to the goals of healing, comforting, educating and advocating for patients. The group meets twice a year to socialize and to discuss plans.

The Saint James Parish Nurses offer health education classes to address the needs of the parish community, make home visits and assist with referrals to community resources. They sponsor bimonthly blood pressure clinics after Sunday Masses in the Pastoral Center. Past events include healing Masses for the sick, a health fair, and glucose and cholesterol screenings in conjunction with Morristown Memorial Hospital.

All trained nurses are encouraged to join and use their skills to encourage the health and well being of their fellow parishioners. Member of Saint James Church are invited to contact The Saint James Parish Nurses with suggestions for future programs.

And when Jesus went out he saw a great multitude: and he was moved with compassion for them and healed their sick. — Matthew 14:14
