The Saint James Prayer Chain, sometimes referred to as the “Prayer Warriors,” is a community outreach designed to promote the power of prayer and create a bond of understanding between people who have suffered similar hardships or
losses. Founded in 1999, the Chain uses email to allow those with busy schedules to stay connected and pray with other parishioners for special intentions. Matthew 7:7 tells us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” and so members pray for those who are in need of healing of emotional and physical pain. The Chain sends notifications of those who are born to eternal life and requests prayers for the departed and their families. Announcements of events of educational and spiritual enrichment scheduled in the parish and the surrounding area are also shared via email. Over the years, it has been most helpful in time of crisis to get the word out in real time, when prayer is especially needed. The administrator keeps the names of the people making requests in confidence. Requests can include the first name of the person for whom prayers are invited or the beneficiary can remain anonymous. All parishioners are invited to join The Saint James Prayer Chain and “storm the heavens” in prayer. Send your email address to Mary Laing Robinson at mlaing123@aol.com or call 908-953-0356.
Constant prayer with all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones. — Ephesians 6:18
